I enjoy working in both pastel and oil in landscapes, working on a variety of surfaces in pastel. One such surface is prepared board with pumice which creates beautiful brush marks that translate to the surface.
The still life is a favorite. In working with a variety of objects arranged to create an interesting story, I enjoy the challenges of catching the essence and atmosphere of the subjects.
Animals are such fun to paint. I work primarily with photos, carrying a camera with me at all times. I've visited zoos, wildlife preserves, and many locations around the Western States.
This collection is both pastel and oil paintings.
